One of the most poignant was the Winamac Coliseum Fire of 1949, which took the lives of several people and destroyed much of the town's main entertainment venue. Although this tragedy caused immense grief to those affected, it also brought people together and spurred them on to rebuild and move forward. Today, Winamac boasts several popular cultural attractions like Pulaski County Historical Society and Museum.
Famous people from Pulaski County include Indiana University basketball coach Bob Knight, born in Massillon and spending much of his childhood there.
