Rebsamen Memorial Hospital was established in January 1962 with thirty beds and seventeen staff. The hospital has seen growth over the years and was renamed Rebsamen Regional Medical Center. It is an acute care hospital with 113 beds and more than 500 employees. There are also 200 doctors on staff. The hospital was renamed the North Metro Medical Center in 2008. In August 2018, the emergency department closed and the hospital was no longer available.
Pathfinder, Inc. was established on August 26, 1971, and licensed by Arkansas Mental Retardation Developmental Disabilities Services. It now has 28 locations in the state. 500 people work in the Jacksonville area, and 900 across the state. Pathfinder offers services to both adults with developmental disabilities and pre-school children.
