Saint Paul, also known as St. Paul, is the capital of the U.S state of Minnesota. It also serves as the county seat for Ramsey County. In November 1849, the Legislative Assembly of the Minnesota Territory created the Town of St. Paul to be its capital. It was located near existing Dakota Sioux settlements. There are two sports venues in the city: Xcel Energy Center for the Minnesota Wild and Allianz Field for Minnesota United.
