More about San Clemente, California

Nixon purchased a portion of the H. H. Cotton Estate in 1969 from one of Hanson's partners. Nixon called it "La Casa Pacifica", and it was also known as the "Western White House", a term that refers to a President's vacation house. It is located above Trestles, one of the West Coast's most popular surfing spots, and just north of San Onofre, a historic surfing beach. During Nixon's time, many world leaders visited the house, including Leonid Brezhnev (Soviet general secretary), Gustavo Diaz Ordaz (Mexican President), Henry Kissinger (Prime Minister of Japan Eisaku Sato), and Bebe Rebozo (businessman). Nixon resigned and moved to San Clemente, California to finish his memoirs. In 1980, Nixon sold the house and moved to New York City. Historical ties also exist to the property's Democratic side. Before Nixon's tenure, H. H. Cotton used to visit the estate to play cards in a small building overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Attorney At Law is changing how clients connect with lawyers. By providing an innovative platform to lawyers who want to expand their practice’s reach, AAL is bringing law practices into the future.
