Charlotte is second in the United States after New York City as the largest banking center. Truist, the sixth-largest financial institution in the country, is also located here. Truist was formed in 2019 from the merger between BB&T, SunTrust, and SunTrust. It was the home of Wachovia before its 2008 acquisition by Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo integrated legacy Wachovia at the end of 2011. Credit Karma's East Coast headquarters was established in Charlotte on May 25, 2021. The corporate office of Cedar Fair is in southwest Charlotte.
