I fell leaving a store ended up in hospital. With medical bills I will not be able to cover from sprained ankle and Podiatry. I don't know who I can contact

A slip and fall case falls under a personal injury premises liability claim. There needs to be four elements that are met: duty, breach, cause, and damages. Premises generally have a duty of safety to those on it. Breach depends on a few elements. Questions such as: was the spill too new for it to get cleaned? Were there signs warning that it was wet around that area? Was the person running or acting in an unsafe way to cause the fall? Hopefully, you documented the conditions of the place where you fell, and your medical records will also be part of the evidence to back up your claim. Speak to a personal injury attorney (some specialize in slip and fall) about the facts surrounding your case. They’ll be able to let you know if you have a claim and the next steps. Personal injury attorneys generally work on contingency as well, meaning they will take part of the settlement instead of requiring payment from you upfront.
