I work as an Administrative Assistant and I'm currently attending Grad School, studying clinical psychology. My tuition reimbursement request was denied, based on the psychology degree classes "are not related to my current position". The denial occurred in November 2021.

Unfortunately, there might be nothing that can be done here. The stipulations around tuition reimbursement are usually strict when it comes to the fact that it needs to relate to your current position. Denying the reimbursement because it is not is well within their right to do. Additionally, if you had any options in appealing that denial, that time has likely expired if the denial occurred almost 3 years ago. Usually, there is a strict time limit to appeal and fight those decisions that are between 30-90 days, which you are well past. If there is something that is missing from your question – such as having a longer amount of time to appeal, your ability to prove that your degree does have to do with your professional, or some type of detrimental reliance that this fell under that category – then that is a different story. Without looking at the specifics of your paperwork, however, it seems like you don’t have any recourse here.
