Pilgrim’s Pride is the county's largest employer. It operates a large poultry processing plant in De Queen, as well as a nearby hatchery. In 2005, Sevier County produced over 50 million broilers.
Poulan-Weed Eater established a satellite plant at its Nashville, assembly plant in De Queen in the late 1980s. Later, the company became Husqvarna Outdoor Products. They made gas and electric blowers and string trimmers as well as chainsaws. The plant was the world's largest producer of gas-powered chainsaws at the start of the 21st century. In June 2010, the facility was merged with the one in Nashville. Chainsaws were produced in Nashville while the De Queen building served as a warehouse. The warehouse was shut down in 2017.
The J. Lynn Helms Sevier Country Airport is located west of De Queen. It was named after the Sevier County native who managed the Federal Aviation Administration under President Ronald Reagan.
