The Grant County Museum is located in Sheridan on Shackleford Road. It preserves and interprets county history and culture for both residents and visitors. The museum has exhibits about the Battle of Jenkins' Ferry during the Civil War. It also contains a large collection of World War II vehicles. The museum also features exhibits on pioneer life, settlement in Grant County, and the local flora and fauna. On the museum grounds is also Heritage Square, which features ten restored and relocated buildings. The B-17 Crash Memorial is located just 5.8 miles north of Sheridan. It houses a replica B-17 that was built to honor the nine airmen who were killed in an airplane crash in this area in 1943.
