I hired Mr. Cavanaugh while I was in the process of deciding whether or not to file for a personal bankruptcy. I was happy with his presentation during our initial meeting and so I decided to pay the full retainer he requested up front, before receiving any services. Mr. Cavanaugh sent me an information packet to fill out, and I informed him that I needed time to make a decision. Fortunately, after several weeks of negotiating on my own with creditors, I was able to work out an alternative path to bankruptcy. Unfortunately, despite not having provided any services, Mr. Cavanaugh refused to refund any portion of my retainer, relying on a clause in his contract that classifies the "retainer" as a non-refundable fee. Never in my life have I dealt with a business that has non-refundable retainers. Needless to say, I cannot recommend him. Any business that prioritizes profits over customer satisfaction is not worth your hard-earned dollar.

Mr. Cavanaugh helped me with Ch 7 during a difficult time in Summer 2020. His rates were reasonable, and he explained things very well and he offered lots of guidance throughout the process. The outcome was satisfactory, and I felt that Mr. Cavanaugh had prepared me for every curve ball and even called into the 341 meeting (which is not always done). I had several initial consultations before visiting Cavanaugh (who met me in person), and this was the only one which was actually helpful. I appreciated that Mr. Cavanaugh was familiar with the local rules and procedures and the trustees. My only "complaint" is that the BK software he's using seems to be outdated and somewhat glitchy.
