I never retained Darrell as my official attorney for my wreck but was referred to him by a friend. We talked for a little over two weeks about my case while waiting for the police report to become available online. After two weeks, I finally was able to talk to Atlanta Police Department and discovered that they lost the report/never uploaded it. This is when things got bad. After I told Darrell the update about the report, he immediately became disinterested in the case. Basically he only likes open-shut cases where all he has to do is file a claim under someone’s insurance and get paid. He literally asked several times to just go through my own insurance instead of waiting for the crash report (even though I knew the other driver was at fault). When I told him that they didn’t have the report, he said he’d figure something out and call me. He never called again. He never even sent an email or text explaining that he no longer wanted the case. I’m so glad I never signed any paperwork with him. Now Morgan & Morgan is handling my case even without the police report. Another thing that bothered me when talking to Darrell is the way he backtracks. The day I told him that the police report was missing, he asked “Well what about the ambulance that took you to the hospital? What about the fire truck? Did you talk to any witnesses on scene?” ...as if right after I was hit, I would be in the right mind to observe every single thing around me or even anticipate that the police department would lose the report and I would have to be that vigilant to begin with. When I told him that, he got an attitude and started yelling “No I didn’t say that.” When I told him to just retrieve the camera footage from the intersection camera, he says he can’t because the chances that it’s still there is impossible. I said okay so what do we do without the footage or the police report and he yells “I never said I couldn’t get the footage.” Basically he’s incompetent but if you notice and say anything, he gets defensive and backtracks. Again, that was our last conversation and then I called a bigger company with more resources. Still haven’t heard from him since he said he would “figure something out”.
