My wife retained Lion Legal to initiate an eviction. We have used them in the past and they were reasonable. Not this time. They required a $1,500 retainer. After charging hundreds of dollars for "reviewing emails" the motion had been filed and they required $1,500 more for the tenant to be served. Choosing not to move forward with serving the tenant, they sent us a bill for hundreds of dollars for their COSTS TO STOP WORKING. Proof in the photo. 36 minutes (0.6 hrs) to attach documents to email and send to us??? 18 minutes (0.3 hrs) to draft an email verifying the motion to withdraw??? An 8 year old can type faster than that. Overcharging!! We will NEVER use Lion Legal again. Retain them at your own peril! RESPONSE TO LION LEGAL'S RESPONSE: We weren't and aren't asking you to work for free. The public should know that you charge $800 to stop working and the amount of time it takes you to read and respond to emails is NOT reasonable or customary. Also, why would we call you to discuss your billing practices? You would have sent us a four hour bill for your pondering of the conversation.
