Rose Still McFarland's professionalism and knowledge of handling federal disability cases is truly a blessing. My case was initiated after I had retired from the Department of Defense which makes the process more complicated. Although not required, I chose to request/provide certain documents to Rose in an effort to expedite the process. Rose prepared my application and submitted my documents in a timely manner. My case from beginning to end took approximately 9 months without any appeals. Great thanks go out to Harris Law Firm, especially Rose Still McFarland, for assisting with my case.

Harris Federal Law firm was money well spent!! They did all the paperwork for me, got all my doctor records, etc. They helped me through the very tough OPM reviews and got me approved at the MSPB. I'm so glad that I had them represent me throughout the process. Their attorney, Reagan Roberts, was my champion. Without her hard work and assistance, I'm sure I wouldn't have been approved and would have been even more frustrated with federal gov't bureaucracy. So use this law firm, you won't regret it!!

I had a very positive experience with Harris Federal. It was a scary process to begin, but the Harris team eased my concerns along the way. They were professional, courteous, and kept me informed. I would recommend this firm to anyone needing the support to tackle such a difficult task. Thank you for getting me approved Harris Federal. Special thanks to Leah and the appeals team.

Harris Federal won my case which is why I give them 2 stars but they cost me a lot in the process. Their staff is undoubtedly competent but I believe the caseload ratio to staff may have been the issue with my delays. I hired them a year ago because I lost my sight in the fall of 2023. While it is true that they indicated the process could take up to a year I thought this would be because of government response times, not the other way around. The government process was 20% of the past year while the ball was in Harris Federals court 80% of the time. I did the math from when they got my package to my agency, who then turned around and got it to payroll quickly and my payroll office got it to OPM quickly. In July 2024 it became too difficult for me to continue in my position and I went out on sick leave believing a decision from OPM was close. I was correct that a decision was close but on July 22nd OPM denied my Disability retirement. The main reason they denied it was because my moment recent performance appraisal was Significantly Exceeds. Only this performance appraisal period was before I lost my sight. This is something I feel Harris Federal should have addressed in my original submission and I could have gotten my supervisor to document the performance issues I was having since I lost my sight. OPM gave us 30 days to address the reasons for their denial. On August 19th I provided Harris Federal with a letter from my doctor at John's Hopkins and a statement from my supervisor. However they did not provide this information to OPM until mid October. It took OPM less than a month to approve my appeal. In July when I went out on leave I had over 200 hours of sick leave and about 350 hours of annual leave. Had Harris Federal sent the documents back to OPM in a timely manner I would not have exhausted my annual leave and would have been paid more than $30k for it. If the delays were justified I could understand but I have been given no good reason for them. I wrote an extensive email voicing my concerns and received a response from the Director of Case Processing who offered to meet with me to discuss my concerns. I immediately accepted her offer. This was more than a month ago and I have yet to hear from her even after I sent another email asking if she was still open to meet.

Harris Law Firm leads you in with a sales pitch of they will represent and assist you all the way until your claim is approved or your money back 100%. Not to worry they have years of experience and they know what they’re doing. The truth is, they take your money ($6500/$5500) for a contract that states that fee is for filing your application only. You never get to see the application only periodic correspondence of the progress. You never speak with an attorney only a case manager. They state that all the medical records you retrieved they can’t use as they must come directly to them from the facilities yet a couple months after that I received a voicemail requesting any records I could send them to save me money. Yes you have to pay for everything other than Harris Law Firm filling out and submitting your application. They filed my application incorrectly and two months early which instead of receiving $1500 a month I will be receiving $600 a month. You don’t receive any funds from OWCP from the date you file until OPM decides to start paying you. In my case was just shy of 6 months. Which caused me to be delinquent 2 months on my bills. I finally received an amount that was a retro payment short of what was supposed to be but wouldn’t have happened if not for my congressman's office. I paid it all out to creditors to get current, my credit score 400 from 790. I now will receive $600 a month which will cause me to go into collections. Unfortunately I had to file an ethics complaint with the bar and a Client’s security fund claim form with the office of bar council. Be warned before you find yourself in my place.
