Don't ask for a free consultation. If they believe you don't have the money they won't give the "free" consultation. I told the lady I didn't have the funds (I do) but never said I could not GET the funds. She told me to call back when I have the funds? After telling me they have free consultation. I just wanted to see what they were about before even considering paying for them. Found out real quick. I need a lawyer that can do a good job but also compassionate. Lets me know in advance how relevant my case is over the money. Obviously, you have a retainer fee. I didn't call legal aid I called YOU. And Ms. You can respond, but I will never read it. Not a great approach to ask someone if they have the funds that is inquiring about a FREE consultation. Some people would like to test the waters before they swim. Isn't that what the consultation is for?

If I could give Mr Latta a negative star I would. We hired him in sept for a dhs case and when we finally came up with the retainer our case got dismissed the very next day. And it wasn't anything he did. he never answered a single question we had not one and let the dhr office file false information and lies and when i got upset about what was put in court documents all he said was well i didn't know they were going to say that yet did northing now its Jan almost Feb. and i have asked him for a refund and he agreed and told me he would send it our no later then fri that week he has now blocked me and ignores my calls and emails

Brad completely turned my case around as my 3rd attorney,after the first couple I had hired had took my money and didn't get results. He came in and completely wrecked the case worker in the TPR hearing. It was EPIC !!! Had her admitting she lied under oath, on paperwork. Completely had her boxed in by the questions he asked, she had no choice. The Judge ended up ordering us to mediation with DHR, stopping the TPR. In that hearing, I followed Brad's advice even though I was against it, and was worried for days if I had made the right decision. It did get DHR completely out of the case.It ended up working out way better than I think either of us expected and after a few months he filed some paperwork, and this time Judge ruled and my child will be home for Christmas 2024. Never give up, and get a good lawyer the first time. It took me 4 years, 3 lawyers over 20,000 dollars in legal fees and they had a very,very weak case. DHR is not your friend. They destroy family, want work with parents, and the corruption runs deep. They had no intention of my kid ever coming home. I hired Brad 2 year into a case that should have not lasted a year, and he completely turned it around. I'm very grateful to him, he has always answered my emails, and text messages. I get on those pissed off rants about everything they was doing to my family. Not once has he ever ignored me in the last 2 years.He wasn't much for talking on the phone, but always replies back to emails. That meant alot to me in itself. Good lawyers are not cheap, but he has never left me feeling ripped off for his time. Always fair and worked with me to keep him paid up. I call him Brad nowadays, I absolutely can't say enough about Mr. Latta. Great guy, Attorney now I'd say friend. I found him on Google, and why I'm leaving this here now.
