Oak Brook College was founded in 1994 by a small group of people who recognized this crucial component. They wanted to change the culture by providing a legal education that is consistent with Scripture andtheir nation's historical foundations. Oak Brook College also provides a character-based, cost-effective, flexible, and academically-rigorous education. Oak Brook was founded by a young student in correspondence law school who realized that there had to be a better way of training lawyers. A model that wasn't expensive and didn't leave students with any debt, a model which allowed students to gain real-world experience and a Biblical worldview. This model would also allow students to have a biblical framework for their legal careers and life. The model would equip young people in all aspects to make a difference in the world for Christ. Roger Magnuson, an eminent attorney, shared this vision and, together with the guidance and support of some trusted advisors, Oak Brook College of Law and Government Policy was born. Oak Brook College of Law was founded with the mission to train people who want to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ by serving as advocates of truth, counselors of reconciliation, and ministers of justice within the areas of law and government policies. The founders of Oak Brook College of Law saw a new type of attorney in an age where lawyers are often the subject of ridicule about arrogance or corruption. They envisioned attorneys who understood the law objectively and who treated their clients with humility, seeing them as people to serve, not cases to win.
