IDS Sports Dietary Supplements Recalled for Steroids, Liver Injury Risks

Dietary supplements made by IDS Sports are being recalled because they contain steroids not listed on the labeling and may cause acute liver injury and other serious health problems, the Food and Drug Administration said.

Hydroxycut Dietary Supplements Recalled, Linked to Liver Failure and Other Injuries

In May 2009, more than a dozen Hydroxycut-brand weight loss and muscle building dietary supplements were recalled after they were associated with liver failure, liver disease, and other potentially fatal injuries. According to the Food and Drug Administration, at least one Hydroxycut user died of liver failure and 23 others reported developing liver damage or other injuries.
