Young You Corp. Weight Loss Supplements Recalled

Four weight loss dietary supplements are being recalled today because they contain an undeclared drug ingredient that is used in appetite suppressant products and can present a risk of deadly health complications in some users, the Food and Drug Administration said.

The supplements made and distributed by Young You Corp. of Tarzana, Ca. contain sibutramine, which can substantially increase blood pressure and pulse rates in some patients and it can a risk of death or injury to users with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat), or stroke, the FDA said. The products do not list the drug as an ingredient on the labeling.

There have so far been no reports of injuries or death in people taking the weight loss products, the FDA said.

The brand names of the supplements being recalled are:

• Slimbionic

• One Weight Loss Pill

• SlimDemand

• Botanical Weight Loss

The recalled weight loss supplements were sold across the United States via Young You’s website and through the company’s Weight Loss and Rejuvenation Center located in Tarzana, the FDA said. Consumers who have the recalled products in their possession are urged to stop taking them immediately and either destroy them or return them to Young You Corp.
