Police: Student Posed as Girl on Facebook, Got Naked Pictures of Classmates
An 18-year-old high school student has been arrested and accused of posing as a girl on the social-networking site Facebook and tricking dozens of male classmates into sending him nude pictures of themselves, according to prosecutors.
The student, Anthony Stancl, is charged with child enticement, second-degree sexual assault of a child, third-degree sexual assault, possession of child pornography, repeated sexual assault of the same child, and making a bomb threat, according to prosecutors in Waukesha County, Wisc.
Stancl and the students he tricked all attended New Berlin Eisenhower High School, about 15 miles west of Milwaukee. He is accused of committing the crimes from spring 2007 until November 2008.
Stancl allegedly created Facebook profiles using the names “Kayla” or “Emily” then asked male classmates using the site to send him nude photographs of themselves. At least 31 male victims did so.
Then, when the boys refused offers from “Kayla” and “Emily” to have sex with a male friend of the girls, victims were told the nude images would be emailed to their friends and posted on the internet for all to see.
Seven boys allowed Stancl to perform sex acts on them or performed acts on him in an effort to prevent the publication of the photos, prosecutors said. When Stancl’s computer was searched, officers found approximately 300 nude images of juvenile males, including victims as young as 15.
If convicted of the charges, Stancl could face 300 years in prison, prosecutors said.
