Woman Sues Hospital After “Medical Mistake” Leaves Her Without Hands or Feet

A New York City woman has sued an area hospital after a “medical mistake” led to the amputation of her hands and feet.

Tabitha Mullings, 32, was originally admitted to Brooklyn Hospital Center for treatment of a kidney stone. Shortly after her release, an untreated infection blocked blood flow to her hands and feet and she slipped into a semi-coma for two weeks, officials said. When she awoke, doctors told her they had to amputate both her hands and both of her feet.

Mullings is now suing the hospital for $100 million and claiming that the hospital was negligent for never giving her a blood test to check for infection that led to her amputations.
